For an illustrative wholly taxable sale of A$1,100 including 10% GST, the GST component is A$100 and the net amount is A$1,000. For the same sale entered as A$1,000 before GST, tax added produces the same A$1,100 total. The inclusive GST portion is one eleventh of the total in this example, not 10% of A$1,100.
